Welcome to the magical world of beekeeping! This introductory class is designed to take you from dreaming about keeping bees to tending your first hives.
Some topics that will be covered include:
A brief history of the relationship between honey bees and humans
Relevant bee biology
An overview of hive components and organization
Protective equipment
What to expect by season in your first year
Diseases, pests, parasites and how to manage them
And more!
Early season sessions are classroom only (to respect the bees’ seasonal nature), but Spring sessions will include time in the apiary and inside hives.
For those times when you need a second opinion, a little extra hands-on guidance, or a boost in confidence. These sessions are tailored to your individual beekeeping journey and designed to provide personalized support.
